Which is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?

I want to shave my pubic hair, this will be my first time because I'm getting sick of it.I'll use soap as shaving cream and put baby oil on afterwards,I would try waxing but I dont want my mom to know and plus it looks like it hurts. And will the hair growing back itch?Which one would you do?Which is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?
For your first time - I would suggest shaving. If you like it and how it looks, you can move to waxing (but you may hate it and regret spending the $$ for a wax)

Be very careful .. that is a hard area to shave. Make sure to use a good soap with lots of conditioner and use baby oil or a non perfumed lotion to soften skin.

And yes, it will itch when it first starts to come back. best thing to do is wear cotton panties for a few days - the cotton feels better on your raw skin than the satin or other materialsWhich is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?
Shave. Its cheaper. And it doesn't hurt.

Yeah it itches. but keep it shaved and you'll be ok.
I go for brazilian waxes myself. I've tried the shaving thing several times it just doesn't work out for me. Too much of a problem with ingrown hairs and such and yes it will itch! There are certain shaving creams made for more sensitive skin (I've heard of one called 'coochie cream' but I'm going to assume you are under age and would have great difficulty getting it). Also, there's certain ointment you can by (I think it's call bikini zone) to apply to the area after shaving or use neosporone. I don't think baby oil is a good idea and may even contribute to ingrowns.
shaving ruins everything... if you dont want itch aviod the shave...

and dont worry about asking mom. set an appointment for a bikini wax.. it lasts long (meaning the hair wont grow back for like a week or two it depends) and its a looooottttt cleaner and that way you are also saved from razor bumbs EeEk
dont shave ur pubic hair, it'll just grow back and hurt a lot and it hurts both to shave and wax so just save urself some trouble and dont do it
waxing hurts like hell! it brought tears to my eyes, and i have a very high tolerance for pain. i have been shaving for like 10 years and after so long, you don't even notice the itching, i guess it just goes away, i don't know.
Dont SHAVE!!! waht if you get a razor burn oww plus afterwords it going to itch wax or go to were the do that for you
Leave it furry!
The hair growing back will itch more that you can possibly imagine. Actually, it will really hurt and itch at the same time, but the more you itch the more it hurts.

But if you really want to try...

I'd shave, not wax.

Good Luck!
do bother with either. use scissors. have a small pair of scissors especially for that area. its not gone completely but at least it looks like you take care of yourself esp down there. and there is defo no pain and u dont itch or get any lumps and bumps.
waxing
i would prefer to have it waxed ...i have been shaving for a long time...waxing looks painful but the hair doesnt grow but as fast....how would your mom know that you have waxed?
You are going to have major problems if you attempt to shave the hair by using soap as a shaving cream. Soap will leave your skin dry and irritated. You should go to the store and buy shaving gel. Shaving down there for the first time with a razor does not feel that bad. You don't really notice any problems until later. That's when your skin starts to itch and burn. Baby oil won't do anything for you either. You need to use baby lotion or Jergen's lotion after you shave. I really think you should use an electric women's shaver down there if you can afford one. Those Remington electric shavers for women are not very expensive. They usually cost about $30. You will get much better results if you use an electric shaver instead of a razor. A razor can really irritate your skin in that area, especially if you don't regularly shave.
