Question about waxing all of your pubic hair?

I would like to wax all my pubic hair at home, for my own benefit no one elses. Getting it done at a salon would be too expensive, i was just wondering tips, types fo wax you's all use to get that smooth, clean feel?

Thanks if you can help, and no negative comments please.Question about waxing all of your pubic hair?
First thing, coming from a professional at this- I really think that once you try it you will want to go to a salon, it is not really an easy thing to do. That being said, I do my own since I don't trust any of the other salons where I live! So here are a few tips:

1. If you have been shaving, let the hair grow for at least 3-4 weeks so the hairs are all on the same growth cycle. If you have not been shaving and it is very long, you may want to trim it back a little to make the waxing easier for yourself. Just make sure that all the hair is 1/4'; long at least, if not a little longer.

2. Remember also that if you have been shaving it, the hair is going to be a little harder to wax at first and more painful, since shaving toughens it up. With waxing though, it will get a lot better,.

3. I like Gigi blue azulene wax (you can by it at Sally beauty supply). You will also need a heater for it, the are like $30-$40. The at home kits with the wax strips don't work very well. Also get popsicle sticks and paper for waxing.

4. Exfoliate really well before you wax. Dust the area with baby powder. You want your wax to be about the consistency of honey, if it's thinner turn the temp down (don't burn yourself!)

5. Wax very small areas at a time. Apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth, then put the paper down on top (don't rub back and forth), then hold the skin down really tight below the paper with one hand and pull the opposite direction of hair growth with the other hand. Pull across, not up. You have to do really tiny areas in the pubic area because the hair growth direction changes so much. If you don't go with the direction of the hair, it won't work and you will hurt!

6. This is the problem with doing it yourself, the acrobatics! :)

I usually use a mirror or two. When you finish, pluck any strays with tweezers and then wipe the whole area down with wax remover (or you can just use oil/lotion, you just want to break up the wax so none of the hair follicles get clogged. Sally's also sells a bikini soothing creme that helps.

7. Keep the area mosturized and just be gentle to it for a few days, put a cold washcloth on it if you feel like a sunburn. Exfoliate like once a week to prevent ingrowns.

8. Wait approx. 4 weeek before you wax again.

good luck!Question about waxing all of your pubic hair?
Don't use the kind you put in the microwave! Also watch what your sitting on. I trieddoing it myself when I was younger and it ruined my microwave and I got some on my toilet seat haha it ripped the paint right off of it lol and be strong! It took me 20 minutes to rip the first strip off.

Waxing yourself, especially if you've never waxed before, is VERY difficult to do. Not only are you trying to wax a tricky area, it is also a sensitive and painful area to wax. Have you considered using something like Nair or Veet? The results won't last quite as long but it will be much easier and painless. You can also go to a student clinic to have this done for a fraction of what it would cost at a salon.

If you still want to do it yourself, the hair has to be at least a quarter of an inch long or the wax won't take, and no longer than a half to 3/4 of an inch. You may want to lightly exfoliate before doing it so the hair has more of a clear path to come out of. It's also a good idea to powder the area before waxing. This helps the wax adhere. Taking ibuprofen about a half hour before you wax will help cut down on the pain. And don't wax close to your period- you'll be even more sensitive. Good luck!
You'd be much better off paying to get it done the first time at a salon. Then keep up with it, by shaving (as part of your regular shower routine), at home. But you need to keep up with it AND you need to use a nice shaving lotion or gel - not soap! Then wash and rinse with a MILD exfoliant. This will help prevent rashes and ingrown hairs.
Other answerer's gave good answers, I just have a tip. Start with the outside, just the bikini line, because if you decide to give up you won't have some weird hairless patch in the middle. If you do the whole bikini line and want to keep going than do so, but keep working from outside in just incase the pain gets to be too much or w/e.
For your first time I would suggest going to a salon, it hurts like hell! I always find it easier if somebody else is inflicting the pain rather then yourself because if its you doing it then you'll want to stop.
ill do it for you ;)
the answers above are really good, i def agree with starting at the outside. consider epilating istead of waxing too - your bikini skin can sometimes take a reaction to the wax. don't use the ready-made wax strips as they stick together, are a nightmare to pull apart and are far too big for any body part except the legs. and if you try cutting them, your scissors stick together.

wax/epilate after a shower so your pores are open, and have an ice pack or something ready to apply if one bit is particularly sore.

i've never felt that clean or smooth after waxing, normally it's a couple of days later before the redness and little bumps have really gone away! i epilate now which i find easier.

to be honest, i'll be surprised if you manage to do the whole area by yourself the first time. it is sore! but good luck!
