How can you get hair waxing wax off of wood. I spilled a good cup of hot wax on laminated floor and cabinet?

What a mess..How can you get hair waxing wax off of wood. I spilled a good cup of hot wax on laminated floor and cabinet?
remove as much of it as you can with a flat bladed tool or dinner knife without scratching the surface below. take paper towels and fold them to a thickness of at least six layers, place over the remaining wax and run a steam iron (on DRY/No Steam setting) over it, moving, refolding and/or replacing the paper towels as necessary, to melt and absorb the remaining waxHow can you get hair waxing wax off of wood. let it dry thoroughly and then try to chill it in some way...possibly with a bag of ice but not damp to the wood; freeze it!

then chip it off
Scrape as much off as possible, then dampen a cloth with white spirit/turpentine this melts the wax -rubbing gently will remove the wax, repeat as necessary using a clean bit of the cloth each time, finally wipe it with a dry cloth.
Ouch! That's GOT To be a mess. And since it's not like candle wax, it's probably not going to come up as easy.

I'd say to scrape up what you can (carefully) and then try a product like Goo Gone to unstick it. Good luck!
I'd be using a plastic putty knife from the hardware store (less than a buck) to scrape off as much as possible. It shouldn't be leaving any scratches on the wood. Then use lemon oil furniture polish to dissolve the rest. I'd be a little afraid of mineral spirits damaging the finish on the wood. Not likely, but possible. The lemon oil shouldn't hurt anything.
Both the answers above are a good place to start but absorbent cloth baby diapers or a similar type of un-dyed fabric is a better alternative to paper towel.
Gently scrape off the excess was with a blunt object. Then you can use a hair dryer to warm up the remaining wax until you can wipe it off easily.
