How can I remove excess hair from my back without shaving or waxing?

We have a lot of Italian in the family, so excess hair can be a problem.

My ex-husband actually liked it alot. He said I really kept him warm on those cold nights.

However, my new boyfriend is a little off-put by it. He said it reminds him of making love to his Uncle JoBob, whatever that is supposed to mean. How can I remove excess hair from my back without shaving or waxing?
You could try Nair. That stuff works pretty well.

So he had an Uncle JoBob? That's funny. I remember making love to some guy named JoBob. He was hairy as $hit too. That's how I heard about using Nair. Maybe it was his Uncle! What a small, hairy world huh?How can I remove excess hair from my back without shaving or waxing?
    Step 1

Shave it. Shaving is a popular way to remove unwanted hair, although hair tends to grow back quickly.

    #

    Step 2

Use a depilatory product, which temporarily removes hair by chemically dissolving it. When purchasing a depilatory product, be sure it is formulated for the area of the body on which you intend to use it. Do a sensitivity test before using it on large areas, and follow directions carefully.

    #

    Step 3

Consider waxing every 4 to 6 weeks, in which you apply hot or cold wax to an area of the skin with unwanted hair. The hair adheres to the wax and is removed when the wax is peeled off. Because waxing removes hair at the root, regrowth occurs slowly.

    #

    Step 4

Tweeze it. Tweezing removes hair at the root, but is not practical for large areas of hair.

    #

    Step 5

Think about electrolysis. Using an electrical current, this process can remove some hair permanently by destroying the hair follicle. Home electrolysis devices are available, but most people opt for professional treatment. Large areas of unwanted hair may require several sessions.

    #

    Step 6

Laser it. Laser treatment destroys hair follicles, but may not result in permanent hair removal. Laser treatments should be performed by a licensed professional.
I would use smooth away, which you can buy online, at target, or most drugstores. You could also use Nair or Veet. If I were you, I would use waxing because the hair will grow back slower than if you Nair-ed it or smoothed it away. The hair will also grow back thinner if you wax.
May i recommend a lightsabre, bella donna.

Perhaps it's not the hair that causes the reminder? Smells are the biggest memory jogger, so try drinking something other than Moon shine and eat something other than chewing tobacco. IMHO

    _()_
Tell him he's not a real man because you have more hair on the smaller back than on his entire body. Oh, and any guy who cares about hair (unless its a beard on a woman) is too much a woman to be a real man! Real men like women, regardless of a little nape/back hair. LOL
I don't think you want to remind him of Uncle JoBob. If your husband was facing him....uh, well that's going to be uncomfortable for you. I usually do my wife's back with duct tape and crazy glue. Removes hair and leaves a rosy ';glow'; on her back.
i'd bleach it if i were you- doesnt hurt, and it looks so much nicer- you cant see it. its an easy solution. its not that he can FEEL the hair- he sees it. thats why he notices; if its not there, youll be fine. besides, bleaching materials is max like 20 dollars. :]
Doggy style and den bost d nut on yuh back and put on a shirt as soon as dat happens. Then when you takes off the shirt, it go dry and pull off the hairs with it.

Sorry if dat is too close to waxing.
Now you have to admit that is funny. I think I remember Uncle JoBob. LILF has the best answer, although a little difficult to sleep on, it will keep the hair sanded off.
it depends where you want to remove the hair, instead of Veet or Nair, have u tried threading? It can be painful @ 1st but after awhile the pain subsides and the hair stays gone for a while.
Well, I used to have this green stuff were you put some on, and wait for a few minutes. Then, take a plastic stick, and wipe it off. I forgot what it was called it is in a green bottle.
You can either use that brand called smooth away which smooths your skin with out hurting you and it removes hair or you can either pull out your hair with help from someone.
theres this new product called smooth away. you can purchase it at cvs for about 12 dollars. it can remove hair from almost wherever you want it to. that will probably work best.
Either he doesn't last very long, or he doesn't put you on your stomach enough. Grass doesn't grow on a playground. I always preferred to wear it away naturally. No woman I date ever has to wax or shave anything.
i can't say that i blame him. if you don't want to shave or wax, the only other options would be a cream like nair, or laser hair removal.
lazer hair removal , or pull every hair out one by one ... waxing and shaving are really the only other way... my sister is italian and has a hairy back .. it makes me giggle , because its friggen gross.
    Nair it !

Nair works miracles, It slightly burns, But I would defiantly go for that. It is cheap and fast, Unlike tweezers and lazer hair removal .
You have cats, yes? Have you not noticed the similarity between a cat's tongue and epilator?
Just let it grow Uncle JoBob's nephew will get use to it sooner or later. If he really has a problem with it make a deal with him that you'll shave if he'll eat your pie.

    Win -Win
    Lots of options

    laser hair removal

    tweezers

    smooth away

    nair
tweezers or smooth away. there is also lazer hair removal but you probably wont want that if you don't want to wax or shave it.
Nair hair removal. It works amazingly on all hair thickness.
You could try to burn it off, but remember to keep you cigarette away from the gasoline until you are ready.
Try a Personal Touch hair removal tool. It won't shave it off but it will trim it way down without stubble growing back. Good luck!!!
Your new boy frann make love to uncle JoBob?

you need that back hair so i can pull on you like horse when we dog style.

    Best Answer-
You have to take em as you find em if he has an issue tell him to hit the raod....
Uncle JoBob gets around--you might want to get tested.
I use Nair like sunscreen. I'm permanently as smooth as a bowling ball.
Smooth it away with smooth away.

    Buff unwanted hair.

    ;D
Let me pull it out with my teeth, one-by-one, while we're making sweet, hot animal love....

Just don't expect me to spoon afterwards. I've got other chicks to go bang.
    Tweezers.

Also why does your boyfriend know what making love to his Uncle JoBob is like?

After shaving your legs a couple times it eventally gets to long Does waxing turn your hair to its orginal?

i shave for swim team but after a while it gets too long

Does waxing your hair return it to its orignal length? After shaving your legs a couple times it eventally gets to long Does waxing turn your hair to its orginal?
Shaving does NOT make your hair longer. It cuts the hair straight across (blunt) making them appear thicker and longer, because when the hair grows in on its own or from waxing it grows to a thin point and it's hard to see the end, so it looks shorter. There is no original length for leg hair, arm hair, any other body hair, except for your head. After shaving your legs a couple times it eventally gets to long Does waxing turn your hair to its orginal?

Actually, once you start shaving, it'd be better not to stop. Waxing will make you go without hair longer, but I'm not sure it would return your hair to normal. Actually shaving doesn't change how your hair grows. It makes your legs feel prickly at first while it's growing because it's a blunt point where you shaved it off at. But waxing does keep the hair away for about 2 to 4 weeks I think. Hope I helped!
no, the length of a hair is in the gene.
yea, to me i think that shaving makes your leg hair thicker then how it is, so when u wax you take off then root of your leg hair so it have to grow a new on again, and that new one won't be thick...
waxing retards the rate of hair growth. so its advisable to wax.
    no, it will still grow...

I don't thinks they likes it so smooth as we does, Bubba. Maybe ya should jist trim that there little sucker ever now n again.
This woman likes natural hair - the more the better! I liked smooth skin when I was twelve, but now I want my guy to look like a man, not a kid or a plastic Ken doll. Shaved, waxed, etc is too freaky for me. And it's actually unhygienic, as hair helps the air circulate and evaporate sweat.
Just remember it hurts like hell but afterwards, its great. Women really do appreciate a nice smooth skin and not some wollen ape.
    i wax my legs
I used cold-wax strips on myself from teenage years onward. Gradually the hairs weakened and thinned out.

Today I have a silky smooth, pretty rump - for a guy - a smooth back, smooth legs, and I feel so proud.

I know that most women like it smooth. And so do the guys I go with.!!!

How do I get hair off my vagina without shaving or waxing?

Yesterday I started getting hair on my vagina (scary) and under my arms I haven't told my mom yet but I will dont get me wrong! She has always said I shave or wax until I'm older I have some veet imac ( hair removal cream) but is it ok to put on my vagina or under my arms? ThanksHow do I get hair off my vagina without shaving or waxing?
What's wrong with hair? Why feel the need to remove it? Maybe a little waxing here and there but it IS normal to have it.How do I get hair off my vagina without shaving or waxing?
for now..leave the hair down there...use shaving cream and a razor on your armpits soon
hmmm...maybe you can try go for laser hair removal treatment you can get on 88db, i think its a permanent hair removal
I hope it works out for you! at some piont you will want to think a bout laszer Hair removal....maybe....pay one time only.....
Well first of all I think you need to understand that vaginal or pubic hair in general is a completely normal phenomenon that happens to every teenager and you need not to be worried by it. There is only a few other ways to remove vaginal hair without shaving or waxing, You can use specialized vaginal hair removal creams formulated for your sensitive skin and you can also use laser technology to have the hairs surgically removed( I'm not sure but I heard that laser surgery is permanent.) Though laser treatment is very expensive.

All in all I think you should leave your vaginal hair alone as it doesn't really hurt anybody and when you remove it, your skin will itch like hell when the hair grows back. If you absolutely have to remove it, A vaginal shaving cream would be your best bet.
    buy nair........ (hair removal)
shaving is better and faster, and safer.

You might get a few cuts, but lets lay it out here, this is what hair removal creams do:

Theyre really harsh chemicals that actually kill the hair folicles causing your hair to fall out. Thats scarier than getting hair on your vagina! I would go with shaving, waxing is REALLY painful (ive had it done, never again!)

its also faster, especially under your arms. You would not be able to put your arms down for at least 10 minutres!!!!

Creams are messy and you have to do them out of the shower, too. sitting there for 10-15 minutes with no pants on and your arms up would be a little weird, and it doesnt always come off. But you seem pretty young, and since its your first time getting it, i would just leave it for a while. You're too young to be worrying about getting rid of it anyways!
    I want to know.....also......
    you STARTED getting it?

    you're too young! shut up!
There isn't anything wrong with having hair there. Obviously you've started to hit puberty!

    Every woman has hair there!

I would suggest shaving, it's easiest. (There isn't another way besides shaving or waxing)

Don't be scared to tell your Mom! She's gone through what you're going through, she'll be able to help!
    I want to know.....
WEll I ..hope it works out for you.....
Use Veet hair removal cream. It is so easily done. You use it while in the shower. Just read the instructions that comes with it. You can get this product in Boots / Supperdrug.
NO. I advice to absolutely not use any type of cream... i read in a health magazine that using a cream can cuase intense itching and may cause vaginal infections. However, it is ok to use it under your arm pits. When removing hair from your vagina waxing is the best way. (try sally hansen products). It may hurt a little but thats it. Shaving helps to but you have to use lots of shaving cream, but it will grow back faster and will itch a little until it has fully grown back. Waxing is the best way.. the only pain you feel is when you wax it..and the hair doesnt grow back for weeks and weeks.

    Hope I helped!
Please don't try hair removal creams down there. You can get an infection, burns or worse. Go to Sally's and buy some kind of waxing strips that are easy and effective. practice on your underarms before moving south. Be careful. Waxing or shaving is the best way. But, learning to shave down there may result in a few knicks and cuts before you get your technique down.

Or, just shave your underarms and but a trimmer and keep the pubic hair short.
You Shouldn't Use hair removal on those kinds of areas because, they are sensitive areas and hair removal creams may irritate you.
    I want to know...
I like what the lady said about nair......
    you could pluck...lol

    theres no other way

Can waxing the hair off of my face improve acne?

because i always hear about how its something to do with the hair follicles so would it help??Can waxing the hair off of my face improve acne?
i guess you have never seen those ladys with a beard.you will get one.i promise if you do that.seen a girl i know do that to remove one hair and like her whole chin has thick hair now.Can waxing the hair off of my face improve acne?
I only get 1 at time but use a half Vit. C pill, crushed in a Tablespoon water morning and evening, pot on w hlf cotton ball. The longer you leave on the better. Use a new half each time in new water. It may dry skin, then I use a drop Vit. E in 2 tsp water and pat on w/ fingers, cut down if too drying.

I'd love to hear your outcome.

    my method
Actually it most likely will inflame it. Wax removes some dead skin and can also allow bacteria in. Also, its a shock to the skin so it totally can inflame it. Not to mention if you go to a pro, she will not wax over acne. Its a huge no no.
nope -but finding the cause of your acne is the best way to treat it. discuss this with your dermatologist.

  • Does waxing hair really keep hair from growing back?

I'm curious, I have a lot of belly hair...and I'm a girl. Its embarassing and hurts my self esteem. Its def keeping me from having a realationship with someone.Does waxing hair really keep hair from growing back?
Waxing when done often enough will traumatize some hair so it will not grow back. Hence the bald patches on waxed legs and bikini area. It will not get rid of all hair though. So the answer is that it is Literally ---partially true!Does waxing hair really keep hair from growing back?
    no, i wish it does!

all it does is 1) makes less hair grow back and 2) takes longer for the hair to re-appear/ grow back.

the only thing that will stop hair from growing back is electrolysis - which is a lazer type treatment - but it is very expensive!

Good luck, i know how you feel ;)
Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.

Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are ';permanent'; hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt
Waxing takes longer 2 grow back usually within 1 month just use your razor every day no biggie lol
Waxing hair is not a permanent cure for preventing the growth of hair. But in some cases, regular waxing would reduce the density of hair growth
yes wax it. don't pluck or shave it will grow back worse. Eventually w/waxing hair will be less/lighter and even non existent

    neat and nair are not for sensitive skin. ';burns';
omg same here....yes it definately helps eventually...im gunna start waxing my belly now...didnt think of it before...i do my legs though ...nd now after like a year of doing it ...my hair just like pills out with my fingers
no it will grow back yet not as fast as it would if you ahved it.
Waxing just takes the hair away for a period of time. It will grow back. I get my eyebrows done every few weeks. But it takes longer for the hair to grow back with waxing then it did with plucking. If you want a permanent solution try electrolysis. It takes a couple of sessions and will cost a litte but the hair will never grow back.
First of all, I suggest you find a way - whether through counselling or just talking to someone you can trust - to deal with the body image issue. Nothing about you physically should be keeping you from having a relationship.

Waxing is a good option. Hair grows back slower and often thinner, but it does grow back.
No evuntly the hair will grow back. I suggest waxing in the summer when you were swimsuits. The in the winter just leave it. The hair will grow back in about six weeks!
Once you wax it, you are going to wax it forever.. It starts getting thicker and thicker.. If is barely noticeable I would live it alone for now.. Wear a longer shirt and get a boyfriend.. He doesn't have to see you without a shirt for a long time.. Good Luck!!
it grows back, I would not wax it....if anything they sell bleach for ur face hair, that u can use on ur stomach. or u can shave it thats what my mom does and so do i,and u cant tell...just a smooth belly
No it does not keep it from growing back. It will grow back withing 3-8 weeks. The best way to keep your hair removed and permanent basis is to get laser or electrolysis
waxing does not keep the hair from growing back. however, the hair does take longer to grow back because it starts fresh from the root instead of from the skin line as with shaving. however, waxing HURTS like bloody mad!!! if your prob is dark hair, not thick hair, try bleaching. you can buy hair bleaching creams in the same area as waxes. mix up a paste, slather it on, wash off after a few mins. hair will be bleached out blonde/white. lasts much longer than shaving the hair off and at most stings a little, but doesn't hurt like waxing.
it slows the rate of growth. i know it sucks although it could be worse it could be facial.
No it grows back~ Try some NEAT or NARE~
    nope it grows back!!
You can wax, it will come back, it can stay gone about 4-6 weeks depends, some hair grows slower that others. It will come back finer and thinner but you can run the risk of ingrown hairs just like anywhere else. I would recomend going to someone rather that do it your self It sucks to getthe wax on there and then not have the nerve to pull it off. I've been there : 0 Also ,it can cause the hair to break off rather than pull out then you can get ingrown hairs. And they are not sexy. You can always bleach or use a product like nair don't go too far down you don't want to burn the um.... kitty ;)
No, but it usually comes back finer...get to know a good wax tecnician...%26amp; keep her as your friend!
Waxing will actually stimulate growth. If you really want to get rid of the hair, you should try laser removal or some other method.

How can one remove dark spots caused by waxing (removal of hair) from lips?

use special lotion and ask a doctor!!How can one remove dark spots caused by waxing (removal of hair) from lips?
you shouldnt ever wax your face. excessive waxing (pulling your skin) over time will cause more wrinkles and loose skin than normal.

Which is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?

I want to shave my pubic hair, this will be my first time because I'm getting sick of it.I'll use soap as shaving cream and put baby oil on afterwards,I would try waxing but I dont want my mom to know and plus it looks like it hurts. And will the hair growing back itch?Which one would you do?Which is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?
For your first time - I would suggest shaving. If you like it and how it looks, you can move to waxing (but you may hate it and regret spending the $$ for a wax)

Be very careful .. that is a hard area to shave. Make sure to use a good soap with lots of conditioner and use baby oil or a non perfumed lotion to soften skin.

And yes, it will itch when it first starts to come back. best thing to do is wear cotton panties for a few days - the cotton feels better on your raw skin than the satin or other materialsWhich is better, waxing or shaving pubic hair?
Shave. Its cheaper. And it doesn't hurt.

Yeah it itches. but keep it shaved and you'll be ok.
I go for brazilian waxes myself. I've tried the shaving thing several times it just doesn't work out for me. Too much of a problem with ingrown hairs and such and yes it will itch! There are certain shaving creams made for more sensitive skin (I've heard of one called 'coochie cream' but I'm going to assume you are under age and would have great difficulty getting it). Also, there's certain ointment you can by (I think it's call bikini zone) to apply to the area after shaving or use neosporone. I don't think baby oil is a good idea and may even contribute to ingrowns.
shaving ruins everything... if you dont want itch aviod the shave...

and dont worry about asking mom. set an appointment for a bikini wax.. it lasts long (meaning the hair wont grow back for like a week or two it depends) and its a looooottttt cleaner and that way you are also saved from razor bumbs EeEk
dont shave ur pubic hair, it'll just grow back and hurt a lot and it hurts both to shave and wax so just save urself some trouble and dont do it
waxing hurts like hell! it brought tears to my eyes, and i have a very high tolerance for pain. i have been shaving for like 10 years and after so long, you don't even notice the itching, i guess it just goes away, i don't know.
Dont SHAVE!!! waht if you get a razor burn oww plus afterwords it going to itch wax or go to were the do that for you
    Leave it furry!
The hair growing back will itch more that you can possibly imagine. Actually, it will really hurt and itch at the same time, but the more you itch the more it hurts.

But if you really want to try...

    I'd shave, not wax.

    Good Luck!
do bother with either. use scissors. have a small pair of scissors especially for that area. its not gone completely but at least it looks like you take care of yourself esp down there. and there is defo no pain and u dont itch or get any lumps and bumps.
    waxing
i would prefer to have it waxed ...i have been shaving for a long time...waxing looks painful but the hair doesnt grow but as fast....how would your mom know that you have waxed?
You are going to have major problems if you attempt to shave the hair by using soap as a shaving cream. Soap will leave your skin dry and irritated. You should go to the store and buy shaving gel. Shaving down there for the first time with a razor does not feel that bad. You don't really notice any problems until later. That's when your skin starts to itch and burn. Baby oil won't do anything for you either. You need to use baby lotion or Jergen's lotion after you shave. I really think you should use an electric women's shaver down there if you can afford one. Those Remington electric shavers for women are not very expensive. They usually cost about $30. You will get much better results if you use an electric shaver instead of a razor. A razor can really irritate your skin in that area, especially if you don't regularly shave.

How well does waxing work?? If not, hair removal tips?

Im partly portugese and we have very coarse hair. Sometimes it's extremely hard to shave, particularly in a 'personal' area. I really hate hair. It's a pet peeve of mine, so I really wanna try waxing. I have tried NAIR products. Doesn't work as well as it should. Not very smooth. So please help!!!How well does waxing work?? If not, hair removal tips?
When you use wax put baby powder on your skin first to prevent you skin from tearing and do not do it after having a bath, the best i have found so far is parisma. Veet is not so great the roller ball does not remove hair it is sugar and the paper strip hard hard to work with. The best alternative i have found is the tweezer from canadian tire for 20.00 it fells like tweezing your hair will not catch skin,But your hair cannot be long, works well on face and arms.If you are going to use wax make sure that you also use bikini zone for bumps and help with any soreness. Also keep an eye out for ingrown hairsHow well does waxing work?? If not, hair removal tips?
Waxing does work but if your hair is thick its kind of painful

but it gets less painful as you keeping doing it

My moms friend lasered her bikini line (i think thats what its called) %26amp; she said that was better then waxing
I've had problems where nair doesn't work as well as it should. waxing is very effective, in my personal experiences
I heard NAIR was suppose to be good...Well, I have never tried waxing (I have lots of hair too) but I hear it's really bad for your skin (chemical)...Why don't you just shave??

should he get waxed? What do girls think of boys with a lot of body hair?....is waxing required?
I personally love guys with body hair. Most girls don't, but a lot do. For most girls who aren't super-shallow, it's not a breaking point. What do girls think of boys with a lot of body hair?....is waxing required?
Well I'm only a teenager right now. But if there was a guy my age that hairy... I probably wouldn't date him lol. But maybe if i was an adult, I guess I wouldn't mind it..

But I definately wouldnt want to date a guy who waxes his body hair haha.
    they just love bears !

What is the best way to get rid of unwanted hair?? Besides shaving and waxing?

Nair, the hair removal cream which you apply in the shower and then sponge off works pretty well. But it burns your skin and isn't good for you. What is the best way to get rid of unwanted hair?? Besides shaving and waxing?
Theres not much else besides permanent removal with sergury ..that costs alot though..

I think personally waxing is the best because it

gets rid of hair by the root...

if its facial id say plucking...What is the best way to get rid of unwanted hair?? Besides shaving and waxing?
as u told besides shavng %26amp; waxing thn use hair removal cream. it will definitely remve unwanted hair.

  • Does waxing your upper lip make the hair grow back thicker?

I use bleaching creams for my upper lip because I've always had a fear of waxing my upper lip. Is it true that the hair will grow back darker and thicker?Does waxing your upper lip make the hair grow back thicker?
No, in fact it grows back thinner and lighter..Does waxing your upper lip make the hair grow back thicker?
That is true of shaving, not waxing.
    no

    its not like shaving

the hair is pulled out by the root and after awhile they don't come back at all

before that they will start to come in finer and lighter til they are gone

i have been waxing my arm pits, legs ,eye brows and upper lip for many many yrs almost 30 and i hardly have any at all

i can go almost a yr without waxing now
If anything, it will be thinner and not as thick. If it is a problem for you, I'd look into laser hair removal. From personal experience, it is phenomenal. It would be probably $500ish, but then it wouldn't be a problem any more.
no, it doesn't grow back thicker. People jsut say that.
i would say no...its just seems like that because you haven't had any hair there lately...thats really just you being nervous about it
mine actually grew back thinner and not as dark, now I only have to have it waxed maybe once a year or less. Same with my eyebrows, I dont have to have them done nearly as often and when I do, its mostly just to shape them up. I dont have the unibrow thing like I use to have.
No, not true. It may SEEM thicker when it first starts growing back, but it is not. You only have so many hair follicles and waxing can't affect that. Sometimes when you wax, you damage the follicle and it does not grow back. After a while, it will seem thinner.
No it's not true. In fact it often grows back finer. If you shave your upper lip it *appears* to grow back thicker but it's just an illusion because hairs are thick at the base and then taper out as they grow so when you cut the hair at the base, it's that thick base that is pushing out above your skin when it grows but it eventually tapers out if you continue to let it grow. But waxing pulls the hair out by the entire root so it will not appear to grow back thicker.
My stylist waxes my lip and no, it does not grow back thicker or darker.
i have no idea but thank God that youre a girl who notices that there's hair there
nah!! i have fairly light and soft hair...but i still get those little 15 or so on my mustache thing....iv waxed, plucked, even shaved..they all come back the same...its hooey that hair grows back thicker..But it is true that you can mess up the hair growth if you shave it the wrong way...but thats extremely thick hair...like pubic..WAX AWAY hun!
I heard that it does! I myself wax mine but it hasn't ever came back thicker!
Even if it does grow back a little bit thicker you should keep getting rid of it coz having a fluffy lip is mingin.
um...I have heard that it does grow back thicker %26amp; darker but you know Im not really sure because i use the cream bleach too(works fine for me and isn't painful and you dont have to worry about it growing back darker or thicker) so if I were you I would just stick to the bleaching...
No it wont make it thicker or darker!!!
    waxing make hair lighter
no it is a myth that hair grows back thicker or darker. think about it? it isn't changing the root or the way it is growing from under your skin. waxing shaving and or anything else doesn't change the structure beneath the skin, but if you were to shave it would give the illusion of thicker hair because it now grows with a blunt edge hair folicle and it sticks up straight for a while, but still nothing changes underneath the skinas far as the way it grows.
Waxing can actually make them not grow back eventually.
no waxing your upper lip does not make it come back thicker it removes the hairs follicles and they come back later on either the same size or smaller. if you find your upper lip a problem i would recommend either the bleach or wax don't shave!
    yup, it is
yes it does my aunt did that and had to live with a moustache cuz it also gets more painful to wax after time!!!
How do you think the bearded lady got that way??

How to remove the excess of hair in the legs without shaving or waxing?

I want to remove the excess of leg hair but I don't want to shave it or wax it.

I want a way to make the hair weak and just remove the excess because it is too much my leg looks really weird and everyone comments on it.How to remove the excess of hair in the legs without shaving or waxing?
you can pluck it but that might take a while if you have alot. you can also get electrolosis which is expensive but eventually kills the root. are you a girl or boy? if you just want a little shedding i would shave along the hair instead of a normal against the root with a dull razor to thin it out. or you can bleach it out. light hair is harder to notice

Armpit hair is growing back darker and some hairs are growing faster than others after waxing, why?

This was like the second time to wax so I was curious. Some hairs are growing back slow and thinner but, I just want it to be consistent. Is there anything I can do.Armpit hair is growing back darker and some hairs are growing faster than others after waxing, why?
all u hav 2 do is keep waxing. the hair root will eventually die and u will only hav 2 shave like once a week or wax once a month

My graduation is June 2nd and i wanna get some facial hair waxing done how soon should i do it ?

I mean i dont want it 2 be noticibleMy graduation is June 2nd and i wanna get some facial hair waxing done how soon should i do it ?
The redness fades in about two hours to a day. So....anytime between now and then. Just to be safe, at least three days before your grad, and no later. And use a proffessional - you may not get it right, and then it will be veeery noticeable. But, if you don't have the money for a proffessional, use Nair's new waxing line.My graduation is June 2nd and i wanna get some facial hair waxing done how soon should i do it ?
    2 weeks from now
You can get it done the day before with no problems.
Do it a day or 2 before. The redness will go away and give you a bit to get used to it so you wont be paranoid about it when your grabbing that diploma. Congrats by the way!
i would do it maybe a week before just so if it isnt done right you have time to fix it.
avoid waxking....have it threaded it better and hurts less
a week before so that way no marks will b left and hair wouldnt have grown yet. congratulations

How to prevent stubbles and ingrown hair from growing after shaving/waxing?

i know i cant prevent it from growing, but how do i make it less visible? i have light skin and i feel like after waxing/shaving the ingrown hair on my legs are just too obvious..

is there a product i can use toe prevent it from growing back so quickly?

i want smooth stubble free legs... any suggestions? How to prevent stubbles and ingrown hair from growing after shaving/waxing?
Jergins sells a lotion that helps the hair feel thinner and come back slower. To prevent ingrown hairs, mix rubbing alcohol and water and splash on just shaved legs. It burns a bit, but alcohol is what is in after shave to prevent the same. How to prevent stubbles and ingrown hair from growing after shaving/waxing?
I have that problem sometimes....what ALWAYS works for me is exfloliating daily, using venus vibrance and aveeno shave gel, and always moisturing. Works like a charm! Hope i helped you sum.
Use a solid deodorant on it. Rub it where you shaved - it really works!
    Exfoliate.
There are creams and lotions that have hair growth inhibitors that will slow the growth. Also, if you exfoliate well, it will help to stop the ingrown hairs. For me, I get the best shave after soaking in a hot bath, exfoliating with a pumice stone and using a new razor each time, not in the shower.

What hurts more when waxing facial hair, having long hairs or short hairs?

    The same!

=]What hurts more when waxing facial hair, having long hairs or short hairs?
long hair. believe me i waxed my boyfriends back which had shorter hair and he jumped a bit but when i waxed the longer hairs closer to his butt he started screaming because it got such a good grip on the longer hairs. Shorter hair is harder to grab and rip out. What hurts more when waxing facial hair, having long hairs or short hairs?
Waxing only works properly on more longer hairs but it hurts just the same as any length of hair.
No difference really - they're still being ripped out of the hair follicles. :)
I think the shorts hurts worse, im not sure why. I think just because its deeper in the skkin?
    short.

  • How long does the hair take to grow back after waxing? Would it last 1 week without growing back?

Waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hairs will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair. If waxing is done regularly for several years, permanent hair reduction may be achieved. How long does the hair take to grow back after waxing? Would it last 1 week without growing back?
Depends on the area/thickness/amount of the hair but after a first wax it will grow back quite quickly - after teh second it takes much longer to grow back. How long does the hair take to grow back after waxing? Would it last 1 week without growing back?
It depends on how hairy you are, and how thick your hairs are. I know for some people it takes a while to grow back, but I have quite thick hair so it takes only a couple of days to grow back after waxing (only a little though obviously)

Still, better than any other method of hair removal from my personal experience.
It's different for different people. But I would say that it would last more than a week. Probably around 3/4 weeks perhaps. It's definately the BEST method for removing hair!
Starts to grow back after a couple of days, It's so frustrating but it's not as rough as it is when you shave. It's less stubbly (if that's a word!)
I think it would take 2 weeks to grow back again.
To get the best results from waxing; you need to repeat the process several times (sometimes as often as 4-5 in the first 2-3 months).

Once the hair is all on the same growing cycle you can expect results that can last as little as a month, clear up to 3 months.

A one time waxing, will not have longevity; because there are 3 different growing cycles for hair. A process that involves 3-5 appointments can usually create one growing cycle for all the hair in a given region.

Patience is required and it can be expensive. The results however; will be long lasting.
IT should be gone for 3 - 6 weeks. Depending on your own body. there's no way to tell for sure how long it will be gone :)

Usually for eyebrows and lip, about 4 - 6 weeks. Brazilian tends to come back a little quicker.
Yes. It takes it 2/3 weeks to grow back.
    it hurts like hell !!!

but trust me its worth it, it lasts 2-4 weeks
It depends on where you are waxing. Underarm hair grows two times as fast as other hair. I'm pretty sure it should last a week. On websites it says it should last anywhere from 1-2 weeks.
    15 days
it depends on how often you wax that area

Does waxing lots of times make the hair grow back thinner?

I have a little bit of hair around my belly button as i shaved it when i was younger, and im really conscious about it! What is my best option?Does waxing lots of times make the hair grow back thinner?
Yes, it does tend to make the hair come back in thinner over time. And more sparse as well. Does waxing lots of times make the hair grow back thinner?
No waxing doesn't make hair thinner. And neither does shaving make hair grow thicker, it just looks thicker because when shaving you cut the tapered end off the hairs making the whole hair more stiff and thicker looking when it grows again.
    yes
    yes, u are right

    wax wax and wax!

Why isnt my hair getting pulled when waxing?

i used some wax strips and the hair wouldnt come off.. do i have to pull on the strips real hard for it to come off?Why isnt my hair getting pulled when waxing?
Your hair is probably really coarse. Let it get a little longer and try again. Also try applying the wax yourself instead of using a strip that already has wax. Your hair being thicker and coarser needs more wax to grip it. Mine is the same way, I have dark coarse hair and waxing helped a lot. Keep trying it will work it just needs some thicker wax. You can also take a warm shower first it will help soften the hair. Good luckWhy isnt my hair getting pulled when waxing?
Your hair has to be just past a curtain length to be able to wax, if to short you will find it doesn't come off. Also if you are using ready to use wax strips i find they usually don't work. I use Parissa from Shoppers Drug Mart you need to make sure that the wax is really really hot and flows easily to work.
it might because your hairs aren't long enough or because your not doing it hard enough and swift enough. when you get a normal wax they put it on pat it and pull it off quickly.
Pull it the opposite way the hair grows.

Would waxing reduce arm hair regrowth and thickness?

If I were to wax my arms would the hair grow back thinner, slower and shorter? I have some arm hair that is really thin and doesnt seem like its really deep in the skin, do you think those would stop growing?Would waxing reduce arm hair regrowth and thickness?
yes certainlyWould waxing reduce arm hair regrowth and thickness?
waxing will make it so it takes longer to grow back but evetually it would grow back thicker
Possibly, but you would need to continually wax for awhile before you see any results.
Women spend a lot of time %26amp; money on waxing because of that effect. Ask your Dr. for a staight answer %26amp; they will tell you. If it's hogwash they will tell you why. Good luck!
waxing helps a lot. it is safer than shaving.
It really matters on yourself because everyones body is different. Buttttt, waxing does slow down hair growth, but not how much :)
No, just like shaving your legs, it will grow back thicker. However I shave my arms, but I only do it once maybe every 2 weeks. If you wait longer in between times it won't grow back AS thick as if you did it frequently. I find it works well and doesn't grow toooo fast.
the hair would grow back just as it was, but sometimes if it damages the follicle enough it won't grow back at all. i have really fine hair on my arms also and i love when i wax because it leaves my arms really smooth and i hardly feel it when it grows back in.
    yes wax them
Waxing is temporary hair removal method.

Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
i doubt that it would reduce regrowht and thickness.

Waxing? is it better to shave or wax, and will waxing make hair grow in thinner? also what is an inhibitor?

What is something good, besides waxing and shaving, to remove hair ';down there';?

I have very very sensitive skin and I can't shave or wax down there, or else I get little red itchy bumps, but I want to be hairless because it's more comfortable. What is something good, besides waxing and shaving, to remove hair ';down there';?
If u were waxed with cold or strip wax whoever did that is crazy! you're meant to use hot wax ';down there,'; cos it's better for sensitive skins and for removing hair from small areas. If your therapist that waxed you last put a cotton strip on the wax then ripped it off, it's cold or strip wax. If they applied it and didn't put a strip over it, and pulled the wax off, then it was hot wax.

Wish you were in my town, I'd wax your hair off for you. I have just finished my course with an angel of a lecturer. she really taught us well. :)

You can use tweezers (can be painful), or a hair removal cream, although it's not a good idea for sensitive skins (so I've heard).

Otherwise go for electrolysis or lazer therapy (costs a packet) to permanently remove the hairs. Make sure you want them off before you go for it though. Or trim your hairs short, not to spike but to lie down flat over each other without bugging you.

Sugaring is also an option, and is similar to waxing. It is an old option and may be difficult to find. Some therapists may laugh at you, but tell them you're curious and you're asking for information. Perhaps try that and see if you don't react. It's ok if you come up with red spots as long as they go away within 24 or 48 hours at the most.

Apply oil the day before you trim or wax, or remove hair, bath in a shot glass of vegetable oil to make the hairs soft. Each time you trim your hair you make them thicker. Ask your hairdresser why. They give the best explanations. Most are trained in beauty as well if they studied full time or with a reputable trainer.

Good luck. Search the Internet for other options. It'll be interesting to see what's out there. What is something good, besides waxing and shaving, to remove hair ';down there';?
Hair removal products by Veet and Sally Hansen are great for getting rid of hair around the bikini area. They have products that are designed for individuals with sensitive skin.... ';down there';. Though I don't have sensitive skin, I really enjoy Veet Hair Removal Cream. (It gets rid of hair in about three to six minutes.) There's a sensitive skin formula, too. Remember to look for products designed for the entire body or bikini area, and that are okay to use on sensitive skin. Good luck.

  • Ok which one is better, Shaving pubic hair of waxing?

Ok i don't like having pubic are down there. So i have been shaving down there alittle. Just around the edges. But i don't like way it looks when i have all those little hairs and there all poky. I don't want to wax because that seems like it really hurts. So is there any other way i could do something about down there that makes it look natural and not all gross and poky?Ok which one is better, Shaving pubic hair of waxing?
Waxing looks and feels much better than shaving. If you haven't tried it yet, it's really not that painful. It's not fun, mind you, but not intolerable either. Sugaring can be just as effective as waxing and less painful. There are some recipes online if you look around. You could do it at home.Ok which one is better, Shaving pubic hair of waxing?
so why don't you give your boyfriend the razor and let him do it?

it's in his best interest not to cut that little sweet spot, he can see better than you where he's shaving, and can get places you leave behind

and the end result is almost always fun for both......
I THINK WAXING IS BETTER BECUZ WHEN YOU SHAVE AND THE HAIR GROWS BACK IT ITCHES AND SHAVING LEAVES RAZAR BUMPS...

IF YOU WAX IT DONT ITCH OR LEAVES BUMPS

How long does waxing keep leg hair away?

and does it hurt? How long does waxing keep leg hair away?
Generally between 3 and 8 weeks. Less hair regrows and it is generally finer. Eventually some hair never regrows.

YES IT HURTS but, A simple way to greatly minimize the discomfort is to press hard on the skin right after the waxing strip is pulled off. To emphasize again, do this IMMEDIATELY after the strip is pulled off. Press down hard with the cushion of the finger or the palm of the hand on larger areas.

Additionally, rubbing an ice cube over the area can do much to reduce the risk of swelling and skin irritationHow long does waxing keep leg hair away?
waxing can last from about 2-6weeks. You must have about 3 to 4 weeks worth of hair in order to receive a waxing service. To me Leg waxing isn't painful but everyone is different and it also depends on your Cosmetologist performing the service. Generally the tighter they hold your skin the less it will hurt.

    Happy Waxing.
probably around 4 -6 weeks. and yes it does hurt. i haven't tried it but my sister does. she said it hurt a lot but you get over the pain the more you do it.

It really depends I guess I waxed my eyebrows and hardly any grew back and I recommended to my friend and hers grew in way thick.

  • Will waxing make hair lighter and thinner if im 13?

just wondering, because my doctor said my hormones are still in ';rage';. Thanks to anyone who give a helpful answer! Will waxing make hair lighter and thinner if im 13?
They always say it does, I haven't found that to be the caseWill waxing make hair lighter and thinner if im 13?
YES. waxing works for any age. it actually works even if ur like 8 or sumthng but i dont recommend it if ur too young cuz of the pain. if ur young rlly young and u have hair and u dont mind the pain, it dusnt matter wut age. :]

waxing is better if ur getting rid of hair on ur arms or anywhere. but for the legs, or armpit, u can just shave cuz girls at age 10-13 start shaving. its the age every girl shaves. BUT u dont hav to shave. u could just wax but i'm just telling u that shaving is not a bad idea when it comes to legs/arm pit hair. DO NOT shave ur arms, face, or w/e LOL. the only parts u can shave, however, is the legs, bikini, and armpit hair.

    good luck!!! :D

EDIT: i forgot to mention, waxing dus make hair grow back slower, and thinner, and lighter. thats why i recommend doing it on ur arms and stuff. shaving makes hair grow a bit darker and thicker, and a little faster. but the reason why i saw its ok to shave legs is cuz EVERYONE dus it andd yeah. no one rlly waxes their legs haha. u COULD but most girls at my school shave their leg hairs. the rite time to start shaving, like i said is ages 10-13. thats the PERFECT age to start.
anything you do to your body at 13 can change it good or bad for the future. shaving is one thing but waxing removes the roots and therefore you might experience some thinning but nothing too drastic. i wouldn't worry about it now. Your still young, so do what makes you comfortable.
As for your legs, shave for now.

Once youre a little bit older you should start waxing.

As for your armpits wait a while and wax them when you turn 14.

If you cant wait just shave for now as well. =]
    Probably,
mehh. it really depends. for me - very very slight. a little. nothing much though....
They say it does BUT I've been waxing my eyebrows and lip since I was 13 or 14, I'm 20 now, and it still looks the same!
well im a guy i regret waxing sucks made my hair come out thicker now i gotta do it all the time
    yes waxing makes hair lighter
it might but really you should wait a few years til puberty settles down before you start ripping your skin like that
Nope, not true for me, my hair always comes out thicker
    yes

Will shaving or waxing your legs make the hair thicker?

    Hey guys,

I'm new at this, but I was wondering if it is true that hair will grow thicker once you wax or shave? Some people say no, but I've noticed that once people do shave, the skin looks kinda bumpy and the hair feels more rough when it grows out. Would waxing do the same? Or do you guys have any other suggestions that's best to remove leg hairs inexpensively. Thanks! Will shaving or waxing your legs make the hair thicker?
Shaving is the worst thing you can do.

You can either try wax or a cream/spray which isn't painful at all. Will shaving or waxing your legs make the hair thicker?
Waxing actually slightly damages the little bed that the hair follical sits in, which is good, because the hair has more trouble growing back, and over time, it'll grow back thinner and thinner. Shaving does NOT make your hair thicker. Those little red bumps are probably razor burn, which happens if you shave too crazily and don't take care to use a good shaving cream/body wash and lotion right after, or your razor is too dull. The reason shaving makes people think your hair is thicker is because hair is more prickly when it first grows out, it's super short and sticks up more. When it just sits on your leg and doesn't get shaved, it get's worn down by everyday things like rubbing on cloths, sun, scrubbing in the shower, etc, and it looks a bit lighter and thinner than freshly grown hair would right after a shave. Just shave whenever you get prickly!
I'd like to ask all of you people how shaving can make the hair thicker. That is physically impossible!

I am a licensed esthetician. This is what I do for a living.

Shaving does NOT make hair grow in thicker or darker. Shaving cuts the hair at the surface of the skin. When the hair is not shaved the tip of it is tapered. Meaning thinner on the end and pointed. When you shave its cut blunt, making it feel thicker. But its not. Also when its cut short it stands up opposed to laying down on the skin and feeling softer.

The ONLY thing that makes hair thicker or darker is hormones. From puberty, pregnancy, menopause, steroids. So for all the guys who say once they started shaving it got thicker, you are incorrect. You simply grew up.

Waxing does reduce the thickness and amount of hair that you have. You are pulling it out from the root causing trauma to the hair follicle. Over time it will be less and less.

Waxing will be your best bet.
Well i used to shave my legs because i thought it was the best way to get your hair without hurting yourself until i cut-ed my skin off and it made my hair gorw in 2 days! wax doesn't do that

than i try-ed waxing and u know wat? it doesn't even hurt! it makes the hair thinner if u use it repeatedly. I use wax band to wax my legs its easier ^^

and ask an expert for waxing like the temperature it should be at and the way u should wax and stuff because the temperature and stuff is important. ^^

oh yea and ask ur mom b4 u do it she'l know it better ^.-

i did it without asking my mom cuz i was shy --that was a big mistake

    hope i helped!
Waxing is really good. Hair grows bach thinner. I wax my legs, arms, and armpits. It's painful but with time you get used to it and it's bearable! Hair will takes about 3-5 weeks to grow back and the hair is softer %26amp; thinner, as with shaving the hair is back 2-3 days after. And the hair is prickly.
    Not so sure about you guys, but I've never waxed, but I know if you do, it doesn't grow back as fast, or anything that like, but it hurts really bad. I stick to shaving, although it does grow back faster, and thicker, for me, at least. %26lt;_%26lt;
I don't know about other people, but when I shave the hair doesn't grow back thicker, just a little darker.

Which is fine for me because I shave every other day, and if you keep up on it, shaving should be fine.
It's an urban legend that hair grows back thicker if you shave. See link.

Waxing will make the hair grow back finer and it will reduce hair over time.
waxing weakens the roots, it's exactly the opposite of shaving, which indeed it does thicken the hairs
That's just something your parents tell you so you won't start shaving. Just an urban myth pretty much.
actually shaving will make dem thicker.

nd waxing will weaken d roots makin hair thinner
waxing makes hair thinner , and never shave
i think you should be asking this question to girls not guys.
No, actually waxing makes it thinner if you keep it up. Good Luck!
    shaving will

    waxing won't
If you always wax your hair will go away at some point

I am wondering if there is a significant difference between waxing and sugaring for hair removal?

Which method lasts longer? Do both of them hurt the same?I am wondering if there is a significant difference between waxing and sugaring for hair removal?
They are the same. However I recently tried ';hard wax'; it goes on warm like regular wax or surgar but it dries on you and it is torn off without the strip. I found it to hurt much less abnd will never return to strip waxing. You can find the hard wax at many spa's or esthetician offices (basicly anywhere you can get a facail. I would call %26amp; ask if they offer it.)I am wondering if there is a significant difference between waxing and sugaring for hair removal?
YES!!! Surgically removing it means the hair never comes back because the root were burned. Waxing means the hairs will grow back.
Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
yes the diffrense is that waxing takes ur hair off butt along with that is ur skin....... so ur also ripping ur skin off.!!! Hair removal is taken by the root it last longer and with in time your hair gets thinner and u dont have it hardly ever..... so less worry!! :) Hope this helped you

Face waxing - does the hair grow back like a beard? How long does it last?

Better than shaving. And the hair will be a little thinner. I don麓t know how long it will last, at about 2 or 3 weeks?Face waxing - does the hair grow back like a beard? How long does it last?
Well, I wax my eyebrows...should be about the same. They seem to come back thinner each time. I guess the amount of time between waxing depends on your type of hair. I have to do my eyebrows about every 7 to 10 days.Face waxing - does the hair grow back like a beard? How long does it last?
depends on you. i wax a man'a face i work with and he has it done 2x a week - his hair grows INCREDIBLY fast. i have another male client who gets his face waxed every 2 weeks but shaves once or twice between.
No, I don't believe so and about 2weeks.
waxing is better than shaving, when you shave the hair grows back quicker and thicker as you only cut over the skin and the root is still there. when you wax hair is removed with the root so it takes longer to grow back and it actually grows thinner, if you wax and never shave you also have the great advantage that eventually the hair will stop growing!

i hope that this is enough to answer your questions

    alinne.
Oh man, I had my face waxed before, like underneath my chin, and it was not to bad, i had a huge rash for days, but other then that, you wont regret it..it slowly grows back..but not thick like a beard or anything, its very thin, light coloured hair

My hair grows back quickly after waxing, is there anything I can do to slow it down?

After I get a brazilian the first hairs start to appear after around 4 days, and all the hairs have started to grow back after a week and a half. I keep getting told that a brazillian should last 4-6 weeks! Is there anything I can use to slow down the regrowth? Its costing me a lot of money to get it done that frequently! Thankyou. My hair grows back quickly after waxing, is there anything I can do to slow it down?
The more you get waxed the longer it lasts because it deadens the hair roots. There are some lotions designed to slow the regrowth of hair. I have never used them but it sounds like a good idea! But, one of those personal trimmers as others have suggested would help. Other than shaving i dont think theres much that can be done unfortunately.

Just keep on waxing coz the longer you wax the longer your hair grows back. Try MIM-although you can only buy this in Arab countries, My Mom from Dubai sends me dozens of it, Now I have smoother armpit and I can hardly see the growth hair, they become thin over time and my mom's armpit hair stopped growing since shes been using it for years. The Arab women use it allover like their mustache, legs, arms etc. They've got the best hair removal wax because they are very conscious with their thick hairs
    Nair
It should lessen the more you do it. I do it myself, and you can buy lotions that contain hair regrowth inhibitors.
wel not trying to be an as$ here but iof you permanently want it gone just get laser removal very effective
it's hormones baby. i had mine removed electronially and they grew back in 4 days. !!

when you're young they grow fast. just get some good hair remover and use it every once in a while. that's what i do.
.There really isn't anything you can do unless you wanna under nourish yourself. You just happen to be a furry women and there is nothing wrong with that, it means your healthy and probably have a lot of hormones.
waxing really hurts and its expensive. i suggest u buy a hair trimmer. my girlfrend says if u use a trimmmer [like for beards], it doesnt itch

buy some wax strips and do it yourself

    or

pluck! if you pluck it, it will grow back lighter and thinner

whatever you do, DO NOT shave it, or use hair removal cream on it! it will grow back, thick, dark and looking like a mans 5 o clock shadow
Don't shave it. It will be all prickly. You can buy some sally hanson wax strips and do it yourself so you don't have to go get it done. Or you could get some facial hair bleach, also from sally hanson. I prefer the wax strips. I get a little too, not bad, but I can notice it.
electrolysis or you can start plucking away at it
You could shave it I suppose.

But then it'll grow back darker and you'll have to shave it more often.
    pluck it

Will it help make the hair thinner and make it stop growing so much and so fast? What other ways to make hair grow thiner? Thanks!I have a lot of thick black hair on my legs. Will waxing regularly help make it thinner?
It will grow slower and look like your original hair when it fully grow. But if you shave it, it will look more thicker when it grows.

Laser can remove hair permanently. Making it thinner? I'm not so sure. You can bleach it though. It will not be too visible yet you can keep the hair.I have a lot of thick black hair on my legs. Will waxing regularly help make it thinner?

Is it normal to have left over hair on the legs after waxing?

It's my first time waxing my legs..

The lady said that it's normal because they're ingrown(not sure if the spelling's right) hair.. I shaved it 6 days before I waxed itIs it normal to have left over hair on the legs after waxing?
i know when i get waxed, the tech usually tweezers certain spots, especially around the genital area, the more the less hair there is. so exect better and better smoothness and more hairless. i never in a million yrs would ever thought i'd be a fan of this. its considered a feminine thing, guys are just discovering it, and the sensual pleasures of being totally smooth and oh so bald.Is it normal to have left over hair on the legs after waxing?
Youre not suppose to shave before waxing your legs. Theyre suppose to be super hairy before you get them waxed. :)

As for the left over hairs.. when you get your armpits waxed, sometimes the lady leaves the tiny hairs, or thin hairs so that they dont grow huge. :)
Stop shaving, or stop waxing. The two don't work well together.

I've been waxing my arms and feet for a year now, and there is always sme left over hair. I've been told the same ingrown story, I guess it means that the roots are quite strong so the hair can't be uprooted.
Yes, she told you the right thing. Some times hairs can't grow properly that's why they left when we do wax.

What can I use under my eyebrows to prevent hair from growing there instead of waxing?

My Doctor gave me a prescripition for something, but my Insurance of course won't pay for it, so is there anything over the counter I can use instead. What can I use under my eyebrows to prevent hair from growing there instead of waxing?
The only other two options are plucking the hairs out, or getting lazer hair removal. Plucking is a little less painful than waxing, and you can do it yourself (I do) if you're careful. Lazer hair removal permanently removes the hair, but it's expensive, probably much more expensive than the prescription. But I'm pretty sure there are no over the counter things you can get for that, sorry. Good luck!

  • Is it ok to use hair removal cream 24 hours after waxing?

I ran out of waxing strips last night. And there's still some...patches where there's hair. I've got an event on Friday so I want perfectly smooth legs.

I use Veet waxing strips and Veet hair removal cream. The warning says not to use antiperspirant or perfume within 24 hours. What do you think? It'd be ideal for me to do it now instead of tomorrow, just in case my skin reacts more to the cream than usual. Thanks! Is it ok to use hair removal cream 24 hours after waxing?
Waxing removes the hair plus a little amount of skin - and as it's plucking the hair right out at the root, you'll have a little 'hole' there too. I imagine if you were to use a chemical hair remover it'd sting like absolute fury and you could end up with an itchy blotchy rash.

If it's only a few random hairs and you have tweezers you can do it that way, or just use a razor on the patches. Less chance of an adverse reaction. Is it ok to use hair removal cream 24 hours after waxing?
It depends on how sensitive your skin is. I can get waxed then use it on my legs, but anywhere else would be a disaster. I would just try a small patch and after you rinse it wait a few minutes to see if you get a negative reaction! Hope this helps.
yeah but just take it easy though

There's many products out there you can use. For example, Nair hair remover.

    http://www.nairformen.com/

Be careful with the one you choose, remember your ';Privates'; have very delicate skin and you might get some irritation. These can be found in the same area where shaving products are found.

Sally hansen, Veet, Gigi and many other brands you can go for too found in the same places. Just make sure you go for the ';Sensitive Skin'; ones.

Hope this helps. How do I remove Pubic Hair without shaving or waxing?
I'm sorry but for that area the safest way is waxing or shaving.

Hair removal cream like Nair is not recommended for such a sensitive area.

The chemicals in such creams could actually burn your skin. The directions for using on legs is to leave it on for no longer than 8 or 10 minutes. I have used it on my legs, and it does start to burn. I would never risk using it on my privates.
If you want to get rid of that hair for good, then you may need to visit a professional. You can undergo electrolysis or laser treatments. Yes, they do cost more than at home methods but you are getting the services of a professional trained in hair removal. He or she will be able to explain the procedure, outline the costs involved and inform you of follow up care for the targeted area. They can also let you know if the procedure will even work for you. Unfortunately, there are some cases when these methods are not best. Hence, the need for a meeting with a professional.

When you schedule a visit with a hair removal expert you should expect a few things. The professional should be very courteous and helpful. This means that he or she should be able to answer all of your questions. Look for a clean work environment and a professional attitude. You may also ask to see ';before'; and ';after'; pictures of clients who have had that particular procedure.

If you want to learn how to remove hair from your body, then there is plenty of information out there. You can look in fashion magazines, on the internet or even check out the aisles of products lining stores. Sure, it may mean looking and trying out new products but sometimes you do what you have to do in order to get rid of that unwanted hair. Not every method is going to work but eventually you will find the product or method that works best for you.

you don't want to put any hair removing cream down there, that area is more sensitive and it can burn your skin! just trim it with small scissors or something like a beard trimmer.
Another way is laser, but it's highly expensive.

Does waxing arm hair hurt really bad? Does it grow back in really thick and how often do you have to get waxed

It hurts about like having a bandaid ripped off - only it is a bigger area. The hurt goes away fast enough. You can always do it once and never do it again - most people do go back -- the alternatives are too much of a pain (laser really hurts)

It is not that it grows back really thick, but you notice it a lot when it is coming back in, because it is short and bristly, which is another reason to go back right away.

I think most people get waxed about ever 6 to 8 weeks. I did, until I did laser.Does waxing arm hair hurt really bad? Does it grow back in really thick and how often do you have to get waxed

Are there any cons to waxing upper lip hair?

i've noticed i have a tiny mustache and i'm planning to go to the salon and get it waxed. are there any cons? will my skin be irritated and red? thanks =)Are there any cons to waxing upper lip hair?
The only cons are that it hurts a bit but the pain goes away quickly and yes, you will get a little red but that also goes away in a while. Now the pros of waxing are worth going thru the cons! If you start waxing, it will need to be done every couple of weeks at first. But the more you get it done, the hair texture will get finer and lighter and also start growing slower. And the pain and redness will get less too. What ever you do, do not start tweezing them, the hair texture then gets thicker and darker, just like shaving. Are there any cons to waxing upper lip hair?
I had a friend who tried that the whole area where they waxed was red as a tomato for like a week, not good trust me and they complained that it did hurt a bit.

So if your skin is sensitive I don't suggest it, or let alone if your sensitive to pain.
Depending on what kind of wax they're using.

The best way to get rid of it would be plucking or laser treatment.

Plus, waxing hurts and it will grow back.
It will definitely leave an irritation if you have any allergies.

  • How long late the hair will grow slower in waxing than shaving?

Shaving is one of the simplest and most commonly used methods of hair removal, but also lasts the shortest amount of time because hair is removed at skin level only and hair reappears in one to four days. In addition, shaving actually stimulates the hair follicle which speeds up the regrowth process causing hair to grow not only faster, but thicker and coarser than before-much like a man's beard. A depilatory cream or lotion chemically dissolves hair at the skin's surface, and is then rinsed away with water. This method is much more feminine and leaves the skin silky smooth. With waxing, warm or cold wax is applied to the skin encasing each hair. The wax is then stripped off to remove hair from below the skin's surface. Results can last from six to eight weeks.

Waxing, like tweezing, removes hair below the skin level, which is why it's a fairly long-lasting method of hair removal. Better yet, the hair grows in softer, not stubbly. Shaving is the worst way to treat unwanted hair. By continually cutting the hair you are, in fact, stimulating its growth. What's more, over time this growth will become stronger, darker and denser, and you may find the hairs splitting. Shaving is also the most temporary hair removal method. Coarse stubble appears quickly and eventually you will find you have to shave more frequently to achieve a smooth result. How long late the hair will grow slower in waxing than shaving?
I don't actually understand your question, but if you wax, the hair takes about 6 weeks to grow back.

    hi

Dont confuse and get tensed.Do hot waxing than threading becos pain wil be less.Dont go for cold waxing really its waste.use exfoliating soap or creams or salt in that area after hot waxing it controls hair growth.whenever u finish waxing keep ice cubes to reduce ur pain then apply talcum powder too.Wax 15 days once or when d hair start to grow in small size do threading which is better and pain free.Hair removal creams may damage because face is very sensitive to all.Do hot waxing when hair is somewhat big or do threading when hair is very short.Dont use plucker or tweezers for sensitive areas.

Soniya JaraikaWhat's better waxing or hair removal cream?
Waxing. Especially for mustache. I know everyone says it painful, but when it professionally done it doesn't hurt as much as getting a waxing kit for home. Also I'm not going to lie, waxing your upper lip can get you teary eye'd at least to me the first few times.

    Good Luck:)
Don't do either. It will hurt both ways.

Ever heard of threading? Well, this video will be perfect. I thread my eyebrows and my upper lip and it works wonderfully! It also thins the hairs over time, so if they do grow out, they will be much less noticeable.

    Hope I helped!
waxing is better because the cream will cause a reaction to the skin most of the time. it won't hurt that bad dont psyche yourself out about it. it needs to get done and you should refer to it as your upper lip hair instead but the waxing is better in my opinon
Waxing. If you use hair removal cream it's kinda like shaving and when it starts growing again it won't be pretty.

it hurts but its very effective

    and it grows back lighter.

hope this helps :-)How can i get rid of hair on my stomach with out waxing plucking or shaving?
Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods. Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are ';permanent'; hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://www.hairremoval.in
No waxing, no plucking, no shaving? Seems like you want the hair then. The lotion creams are just like shaving and I think they suck. The only difference is you don't use a blade, the hair sort of just melts off. Waxing, as painful as it may be, is the most effective because it pulls the hairs out by the root. When the hair grows back it is lighter than with shaving and it takes longer to grow back than with shaving.
I have this problem and the best thing i have used is laser treatment.

You can buy a home laser kit - Rio Laser Hair removal system.

It did cost me 拢100 but after 3 months of use the hair actually doesnt come back.

Its pain free and so easy to use. You can use it all over your body.

If you dont fancy trying it yourself or buying one go to a beautician, they will advise you and you can either have laser treatment or Electrolysis.

Electrolysis is a treatment that uses tiny needles to distroy the hair root .

I also use hair removal cream for a quick fix however it doesnt last long.
you can get a cream something like ';nair'; to get it away. or you can always buy a package of hair bleach from salley hansen at cvs for a few dollars and it will lighten it and make it much less noticeable without regrowth or anything
buy some Nair. it like dissolves hair to the root or something. you put it on kinda like shaving cream, let it sit for a lil while and then just wipe it off.

it burns a little and smells weird because of the chemicals.
you could use veet or nair since that isn't technically waxing. and shaving doesn't make hair grow back darker. at least for me it doesn't. and if it isn't dark already then just don't worry about it.
Get it laser hair removal then you won't have to worry about it coming back at all.
wait until the scientists invent gene re-engineering or gene therapy

lol, I shave, but idk i just wanna know a diffrent way.How to get rid of leg hair with out shaving or waxing?
there's nair and that spray on, rinse off stuff made by sally hanson. i don't like nair ... it stinks and burns but the sally hanson spray on stuff works really well. i like that ';intuition'; thing where the razor is a 3 blade shaver surrounded by solid moisturizer. it works great i love it, i'll never use anything else. good luck! How to get rid of leg hair with out shaving or waxing?

  • Is trimming hair better than shaving before waxing?

I am going to have wax for first time.

Should i trim first incase it will be less painful. Is trimming hair better than shaving before waxing?
Yes, if your hair is rather long (longer than 1/4 inch or so) you should trim it down to about that length. You do not want to shave it off though, or cut it too short because then the wax will have nothing to grab onto, and your hair will not get pulled out and it will end up being a waste of time...and unnecessary pain. Good luck!Is trimming hair better than shaving before waxing?
absoloutely your hair only needs to be a bout 1/2 to an inch long for waxing. trim you will be glad you did! Good Luck!!
yes u should definitely trim before you go.

Is plucking your body hair as effective as waxing?

I'm just wondering.... there's so many awkward random questions ive just been waiting to ask. This website is awesome! Is plucking your body hair as effective as waxing?
yes because u are taking it out all the way to the root like waxing but its just so much quicker to wax than pick out one hair at a time lolIs plucking your body hair as effective as waxing?
Not really. A lot of times tweezing does not get the root of the hair out...And not only that but there are a lot of tiny soft hairs that are almost impossible to tweeze! Waxing is a good cheap option that leaves the skin completely smooth if done right.
plucking body hair will take a really long time and waxing lasts really long
    nope.

    no

What is the best way to remove pubic hair? Are hair removing products better than just waxing?

I haven't waxed that region before, I've only shaved and had a bad experience with that because you could start to feel the stubble shortly after.. what do you all recommend for smooth hair-less skin for the longest time? Is waxing the best? What is the best way to remove pubic hair? Are hair removing products better than just waxing?
Waxing by far is the best solution to hair removal, it is economical and not too bad once you get used to it. I am a licensed Esthetician, at the spa where I work, a co worker would give me a Brazilian wax when needed. It hurt like heck the first few times but now I do it on my own without a problem in an upright position. (Use Imagination).

The key is to trim those curly buggers down to 1/4 -1/8 inch the first time, when it starts to grow back you can catch it early. It will eventually come back thinner and lighter.

You will need the necessary tools to do this...

Or take some body waxing classes. If in doubt see a professional. What is the best way to remove pubic hair? Are hair removing products better than just waxing?
I would suggest that hair removing products are better and less painfull than waxing. The reason is that by waxing the hair grow quicker again which is a waste of time and money both. From the products you can easily patch the cream on the required space and wait 5 to 10 minutes then remove the cream from a tissue and wash.
Don't use hair removal cream all over ';down there'; if you're going to use them at all. It stings like heck. Use it for the top and then shave the more delicate area I find this alright but waxing is definitely the best option for me. It has laster longing results for sure. A little painful sure but so much quicker than shaving and like you said, shaving isn't effective in the sense that hair starts to grow back straight away fast.
Waxing down there hurts a heck of a lot more than anywhere else. I'd recommend trying to perfect shaving- and you don't have to keep things immaculate down there. It's only when it's a giant hairy jungle it can be intimidating.
has to be waxing...dont ever use ';products'; there, too much bad could happen.
keep waxing. its the quickest and it stays away longer

Does waxing make the hair grow back quicker?

if you waxed your stomach would it come back hairier or thinner?Does waxing make the hair grow back quicker?
yea i've noticed it happeningDoes waxing make the hair grow back quicker?
I don't think so because when you get waxed I think it pulls the root out along with the hair.
maybe, thats what happened on Seinfeld...
waxing, shaving..its all still a myth.
no..waxing is actually the best form of hair removal. the good thing about waxing is that it allows the hair to grow in the same direction as before(unlike shaving) and it comes out as the same thickness...but ouch, it hurts
No, it comes back far less hairy, and typically stays hairless for much longer than shaving. I dunno what those other people are smoking.
    no
It just grows back like it was. The Whole ';Hair growing back thicker'; thing is only urban legend.
